I think Happy Faces are going to overuse the word "wow" this year, but really...WOW. What an incredible weekend! Happy Faces had the honour of attending the first annual World Changers Conference which took place this weekend on the gorgeous Couran Cove Resort, Stradbrooke Island.
Business owners, managers and star quality fundraisers from all over Australia and New Zealand came together to bond, to inspire and to share world changing ideas.
It was a pleasure to meet and listen to inspirational guest speaker Darren Fittler. Darren is an ordinary man, who has achieved extraordinary accomplishments. A surprise genetic anomaly rendered Darren blind at just 13. Even still Darren went on to become a senior lawyer in one of Australia's top firms. He is the first blind person ever to complete a tough mudder, a high octane, adrenaline-heavy obstacle course and he has a beautiful wife and two lovely children. Darren's message to us was clear and simple. Be curious. And dare to try. “My philosophy is that whatever obstacle comes to you, find a way. You go around things and find a way to succeed. You don’t give up.” If you would like to learn more about Darren and his daily inspirations you can follow him on his webpage: http://www.darrenfittler.com/ |
Congratulations to our friend Marc Alcorn who received his award for raising over $600,000 for charity in the past four months. Proud of you mate, the future is bright.
Jack Lewis gave a powerful presentation on how to lead from the front and motivate your team to go that extra mile, thank you for your insight. Craig Whitehead gets the prize for being the biggest legend, alongside his too awesome excitlings, Casimir Hammistein and Eddy Valenbreder. Mark brought the hippity hop and bop with his superstar Isabella Corey and we had more than one Jolly good fellow with both John Palutini and Matt Young celebrating their birthdays on the cove. But it has to be said, the prize for the most valuable world changing contribution goes to Ross Howe, with the answer to any and all world problems...PUPPIES PUPPIES PUPPIES!!
A BIG thank you to Cornucopia for organizing such a stellar weekend of learning, growth, development and world changing ideas!
