New Recruits, New Friends

WOW, what an AWESOME road trip! We can't believe we are back on the coast getting ready for the World Changers Conference this weekend!

What. A. Trip. We couldn't have asked for a nicer bunch of recruits to kick start the journey.

We had the lovely Mandy, a naturally talented fundraiser from where else but the Emerald Isle (I had to bring a piece of home with me hehe). I actually met Mandy while travelling in America so it was heaps cool that she came to join us on our fundraising mission. Mandy pulled some GREAT scores and made sure there was NEVER a dull moment :D.

We had the cool breeze (Orion) from Finland who had apparently experienced every human feeling known to man/women and who DEFINITELY "Knows that feeling ;)"
Around the same time we welcomed on board the coolest, most unsuspecting little French ninja Clementine Morin (Betelgeuse) who will be joining us for our team trip to the Whitsunday Islands shortly :D YAY!!

The FLO-RIDA, (Rigel) (we miss youuuu!!) has headed off for a New Zealand adventure with nothing but a smile and a single packet of plumpy nut (we hope he doesn't die of malnutrition before he finds his way back) :D

Adventure

Over the past two months we laughed together, we cried together, we lost together and we won TOGETHER. We travelled all over Queensland, we raised HEAPS for our amazing charity partner Médecins Sans Frontières. Along the way on this trip we got to visit the stunning Carnarvon Gorge where we undertook a midnight hike to the top of the Boolimba Bluff, pitched our tent on top of the canyon and got to watch the sun rise over the gorge. There was a trip to the Gem-fields where the guys got to go under ground fossicking for precious stones (if they found any they've been getting their Gollum on and haven't let us know haha). We wrestled gigantic spiders in Mickeys Creek, swam with turtles in the rock pools, performed a spot of horse whispering on the road to Emerald and the Flo-rida got to see his first snake (more of a worm by Aussie standards but at least he was pleased haha).

The number one highlight of the trip was a night at an outback observatory were we got to spend two hours with an astrology expert gazing at the galaxies and learning the star constellations. What a beautiful world.

If the happy faces team has a fraction of the fun on the next trip as we had on this one then it will be a trip worth having :)
